WHY CHOOSE ME

Welcome To CR’s Personal Training & Coaching

My name is Christine Robella and here is my story of why I want to help you get fit now! I made a major career change when I turned 30. I left a steady and successful job in pharmaceutical sales to pursue my passion for helping others. I became a personal trainer and coach because I not only wanted to help people feel better both physically and mentally, but also to help young athletes navigate the rising demands of their sport. I loved coaching gymnastics, but I feel my true calling is in the creation of this new business model that will allow me to provide targeted one-on-one training with individual clients. As such, I will be able to meet each client’s specific needs and provide a singular focus to help them become their strongest self both physically and mentally. I will do this through the development of an integrated personal training program that is unique to each individual client.

I started competing in gymnastics at age 7, which was actually considered late since most kids start around ages 4-5. From ages 10-17 I trained under the well-known coach Tatiana Perskaia, who is a Brevet Judge, and is on the USA Gymnastics Women’s National Team Coaching Staff, as well as coaches at Capital Gymnastics National Training Center in Burke, VA. I competed level 10 for four years and qualified to become an International Elite my senior year in high school. In 2003, I qualified for the U.S. National Championships placing sixth on vault and 18th All-Around at the U.S. Classic. In 2001 and 2003 I was the Junior Olympic National Champion on both floor exercise and vault.

I attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on a full athletic scholarship and went on to compete in all four events during my college tenure. I was named All-American on the floor exercise my junior year in college. I went through a lot as a gymnast. I had two knee surgeries in high school, a torn hip flexor, sever’s in my heels, multiple second to third degree ankle sprains, pulled hamstrings, a torn thumb ligament, shoulder pain, etc etc! Following my college career, all of my previous injuries caught up with me and I found out I had a bulging disc in my lower back between L4 and L5, as well as issues with my neck, knees, shoulders and feet! I was feeling discouraged and upset because I wanted to stay strong but wasn’t sure how to do that with all my pain.

This led me to find my mentor, who helped me embark on an intense muscular rehabilitation program, which then led me to discover my passion for personal training. I got into muscle-targeted weight training, sprint triathlons, road biking, and yoga. My mentor opened up my eyes to the various ways our bodies can compensate for muscular imbalances, which can exacerbate existing injuries.

As you can see my body has been through a lot, however, by enduring all of these ailments I am able to uniquely relate to my personal training clients and find ways to help you navigate any weaknesses and/or injuries to help you build strength! I believe diversifying workouts keeps you fresh along with making for a fun and healthy fitness balance! I am here to help get you motivated and am excited to be a part of your fitness journey with whatever your goals may be!
